What's the difference between AP Calc AB and BC?

AP Calculus BC covers everything in AB and adds two more units: parametric, polar, and vector functions (Unit 9) and infinite sequences and series (Unit 10). Both exams share the same format — 45 multiple-choice plus 6 free-response questions in 3 hours 15 minutes — and even share 3 of the same free-response prompts, so the difference is the extra BC topics, not a different test structure.

Because BC has to fit two extra units into the same 45 multiple-choice questions, the AB topics carry less individual weight on the BC exam. For example, Limits & Continuity is 10–12% on AB but only 4–7% on BC, while Series alone accounts for 17–18% of the BC multiple-choice section.
